‘Canvas and Paint’ by Eileen van Bavel – online exhibition

‘Canvas and Paint’ is a community exhibition by local artist Eileen van Bavel. Featuring paintings that explore the art of expression, van Bavel experiments with vivid colours and textural surfaces, layered with compounds, material, and glazes. Shifting fluidly between realism and abstraction, the artist draws inspiration from her experience working with clay, organic material, landscapes, and shapes found in nature.

Eileen van Bavel is the winner of the 2021 Boroondara Arts Encouragement Award, awarded annually to a local exhibitor in the Camberwell Art Show and recognising excellence in contemporary visual art. The award celebrates and promotes local artists by providing a unique opportunity to exhibit works at Hawthorn Arts Centre.
