The Mayoress
1982

170cm tall

This life size figure by local Boroondara artist Michael Meszaros stands in the shady courtyard of Camberwell Library. It is symbolic of the role of the mayoress in the community.

In 2021, Town Hall Gallery held an exhibition celebrating Meszaros’ 50-year career as a full-time, self-supporting artist. To view more of Michael’s works, visit our page 50 Years as a Sculptor by Michael Meszaros – online exhibition.
