The park is suitable for celebrations, casual gatherings and children's play.
Its open grass areas and large trees provide a great atmosphere and plenty of shade.
You can book a grass area in the park for your exclusive use.
We require between 5 full business days and 8 weeks' notice, depending on your booking.
You can apply to bring:
- up to 20 chairs and 3 tables for events
- a marquee or arbour covering up to 30 square metres.
You will need to provide other documents and permits if more than 100 people will be attending your event.

There are no public toilets at South Surrey Park.

The gardens are 2.1 km from Canterbury train station. The number 70 tram stops on Riversdale Road, a short walk from the entrance on Verdun Street.

April to October: 8 am to 6 pm.
November to March: 8 am to 8:30 pm.
