The Meeting Procedure Local Law (MPLL) sets out the procedures for the election of the Mayor and for conducting Council and Special Council Committee meetings to ensure they are fair, orderly and effective.

Following comprehensive community consultation Council resolved to adopt the Meeting Procedure (Additional Amendments 2014) Local Law at a meeting held on 27 April 2015, which amended the MPLL to:

•    Improve compatibility between the MPLL and the Local Government Act 1989 with respect to the
procedures and voting when electing the Mayor.
•    Introduce prerequisites for questions submitted to Public Question Time at Council meetings and
impose restrictions on the number of questions that a person may submit.

The Meeting Procedure (Additional Amendments 2014) Local Law commenced operation on 29 May 2015.

The consolidated MPLL incorporating all amendments can be viewed online, or may be inspected at the Camberwell Municipal Offices, 8 Inglesby Road, Camberwell.
