The draft Structure and Place Plan for Camberwell Junction offers a vibrant long-term vision for the centre.

The result of extensive research and community feedback, the plan is a comprehensive framework to guide future development proposals as well as public-space upgrades in the area. 

Camberwell Junction is a vital shopping and employment centre that will also become home to more residents in the future. This draft plan will guide future development in the area to ensure it is well-designed.

To achieve best-practice urban design, it provides planning guidance on building heights and setbacks, and ensures new development relates well to the street environment. 

The draft plan will support the future growth of the centre with targeted improvements to public spaces, transport links and community facilities. It will also continue to protect heritage places and the traditional character of the shops along Burke Road that locals love.

To deliver your vision and priorities for Camberwell Junction, we’ve developed location-specific actions. We’ve divided the centre into 6 distinct precincts to ensure we make the most of each one’s unique opportunities. For example, the buildings and spaces around Fritsch Holzer Park will need a different approach to those close to Camberwell Fresh Food Market. 

These actions aim to ensure Camberwell Junction is a great place to visit, shop, work and live.
