Amendment abandoned

At the meeting on 24 June 2024, Council resolved to abandon Amendment C385boro. Access a copy of the Council report.

Amendment C385boro sought to rezone the Serpells Lane car park from Public Use Zone 6 to Commercial 1 Zone.

The rezoning was required in order to enable the sale of the land into private ownership. As the land has now been sold to Swinburne University, which is a public institute, the original reason for pursuing a rezoning of the property no longer exists and the land does not need to be rezoned to complete the sale. 

As a result, the changes to planning control proposed as part of Amendment C385boro will not be introduced into the Boroondara Planning Scheme.
