Local shopping and community precincts will come alive with the return of Street Sounds, creating vibrant entertainment as you shop, dine and explore at locations all across Boroondara.

We are presenting free roving entertainment for all audiences featuring a diversity of artists and cultures. Musical genres and styles include:

  • klezmer (gypsy)
  • tango
  • jazz
  • country
  • Latin
  • Parisian
  • and more.

The Street Sounds program brings vibrancy to local shopping strips and community precincts, supporting the City of Boroondara’s Arts and Cultural program, Bare to Beautiful program and the local Placemaking Framework.

Wild and soulful Gypsy, Klezmer and European music played and sung by Ernie Gruner and Phil Carroll on violin, accordion, mandolin, ney, with jazz, tango and eastern.

French gypsy swing virtuosos La Mauvaise Réputation are Australia’s most authentic interpreters of the wild rhythms and passion of 1930s Parisian hot jazz and the beautiful melodies of classic French chanson.
