Craft Cubed is an annual celebration of craft in Victoria, featuring workshops, exhibitions and presentations.
This year's festival runs from 1 to 31 August and Boroondara Arts is joining the festival with the Hawthorn Arts Centre becoming the hub of all things craft in Boroondara.
All makers, creatives and toe-dippers are invited to experience the latest community exhibitions, learn from the masters through workshops and demonstrations, support the local craft traders at the Hawthorn Makers Market and take part in creating a community artwork.
Visit our exhibitions
Come along to Town Hall Gallery and explore Anzara Clark’s latest exhibition (Th)reads, which transforms paper into visual poetry. Anzara re-imagines the paper’s original purpose and narratives of their authors.
Visit Hawthorn Arts Centre throughout August to see craft extraordinaire Sai-Wai Foo's garden installation, How does your garden grow? made from upcycled textile materials and paper. Come along and relax in the garden or plant your very own craft creation.
Be sure to check out Town Hall Gallery After Dark for special after-hours access to the best art in the eastern region.
Attend crafting workshops and demonstrations
Choose from a range of creative workshops including soft sculpture, sewing, paper art, macramé, collage, Japanese braiding and weaving.
There'll also be artists talks and demonstrations, a Boroondara Creative Network meeting exploring how to make Instagram work for you and other learning opportunities.
Make an origami frog
