Entry information – Woodwind

Participants must read and agree to the General rules before entering the competition.

Woodwind Solo – 12 years and under

Date: 10 am Saturday 15 July
Venue: Hawthorn Arts Centre
Registration fee: $25

Time limit: 3 minutes
Requirements: Music of own choice for any woodwind instrument.
Prizes: 1st – $50 voucher, 2nd – $30 voucher, 3rd – $20 voucher

Adjudicator: To be confirmed
Participants who are either related to the adjudicator or have been taught privately by the adjudicator within 6 months prior to date of event are ineligible to participate in this section.

Accompanist fee: $10
The official accompanist must be booked and the fee paid at the time of entry. The accompanist fee covers the performance only. Rehearsals are strongly encouraged and can be arranged directly with the accompanist. These will incur additional fees as determined by the accompanist. Entrants may use their own accompanist by private arrangement.
Pre-recorded accompaniment is not permitted for this section.

Woodwind Solo – 15 years and under

Date: 11:30 am Saturday 15 July
Venue: Hawthorn Arts Centre

Requirements: Music of own choice for any woodwind instrument.
Prizes: 1st – $60, 2nd – $53, 3rd – $25

Adjudicator: To be confirmed
Participants who are either related to the adjudicator or have been taught privately by the adjudicator within 6 months prior to date of event are ineligible to participate in this section.

Date: Heats – 3:30 pm Saturday 15 July (Finals at 2 pm Sunday 20 August)
Venue: Hawthorn Arts Centre
Registration fee: $25
Time limit: 12 minutes
Requirements: Heats – One work of own choice for any woodwind instrument (max 8 minutes). Finals – Two works of own choice for any woodwind instrument (combined max 12 minutes).
Prizes: 1st – $500, 2nd – $75, 3rd – $50

Participants who are either related to the adjudicator or have been taught privately by the adjudicator within 6 months prior to date of event are ineligible to participate in this section.

Submissions open: 12 noon Thursday 27 July
Submissions close: 5 pm Friday 4 August
Registration fee: $25
Time limit: 8 minutes
Requirements: Music of own choice for any woodwind instrument.
Reports emailed to entrants and winners announced: Friday 18 August
Prizes: 1st – $90, 2nd – $55, 3rd – $35

Adjudicator: To be confirmed
Participants who are either related to the adjudicator or have been taught privately by the adjudicator within 6 months prior to date of event are ineligible to participate in this section.

Accompanist fee: $10
The official accompanist must be booked directly by the entrant no later than two weeks prior to the scheduled event. The accompanist fee is payable at the time of entry and covers the performance only. Rehearsals are strongly encouraged and can be arranged directly with the accompanist. These will incur additional fees as determined by the accompanist. Entrants may use their own accompanist by private arrangement. Pre-recorded accompaniment is not permitted for this section.
