Prizes and awards

To promote local artistic excellence and innovation, Boroondara Arts supports a number of annual prizes, awards and commissions.

The Kew Court House Art Prize 

The Kew Court House Art Prize provides financial assistance to pursue high levels of artistic endeavour and to present artwork from one-night to three months at the Kew Court House. 

Applications for the next Kew Court House Art Prize will open in March 2019.

2018 Kew Court House Art Prize Recipient Exhibition

Emily Shannon's exhibition Engage With Your Census is a visual celebration of both the diversity and unity of Boroondara's people-scape, as captured in the stilled frame on census night, 9 August 2016.

Engage With Your Census runs from Wednesday 4 July to Friday 28 September and can be viewed when the Kew Court House is open to the public for performances and events.

The Boroondara Arts in Festivals Commission

Boroondara Arts in Festivals Commission works annually with an artist or artistic group to create and deliver an ambitious new work at one of Boroondara’s Community Festivals.

Applications are closed for 2018 and will reopen in April 2019.

Boroondara Arts Encouragement Award – Camberwell Art Show

Awarded annually to an exhibitor at the Camberwell Art Show, this award recognises excellence in contemporary visual art. 

The winner of the 2018 Boroondara Arts Encouragement Award at Camberwell Art Show is Mike Kowalski.
