From 9 July to 24 September, Town Hall Gallery will host 'Above the Canopy', a major exhibition that celebrates the rich and diverse beauty of the Australian natural environment.

This exhibition communicates the unimaginable grandeur of nature while exploring concerns for climate action and the need to protect the planet for future generations.

Above the Canopy includes artists such as Sarah Hendy, Janet Laurence, Michael McHugh, Rebecca Mayo, Catherine Nelson, Grant Stevens and Judy Watson. Their works include installations, photography, paintings, animation and textiles. It creates a theatrical, immersive and regenerative experience that acknowledges the significance of Country and our need to care for it.

As part of the exhibition, Town Hall Gallery is offering a selection of public programs:

  • Saturday 9 July – Above the Canopy – Exhibition tour for families
  • Wednesday 10 August – Cinema Session: Taming the Garden
  • Wednesday 31 August – Above the Canopy – Exhibition tour
