To ensure we identify, protect, manage and promote our City’s heritage, we have a continuing program of heritage studies and other projects, outlined in the Heritage Action Plan 2016.

The key priority of the Plan is the preparation of municipal-wide heritage gap studies to identify and protect heritage places throughout the municipality that remain unprotected.

The Heritage Action Plan was adopted by Council’s Urban Planning Special Committee in May 2016 and builds on the first plan created in 2012. One of the main inputs into the first Plan was the Thematic Environment History Report, which explores the history of development in Boroondara.
