Walking and cycling
- Balwyn Leisure Centre is located in Gordon Barnard Reserve and there are excellent walking routes in the area, particularly linking several parks in an east-west direction.
- Balwyn Road, Greythorn Road and Union Road have dedicated bike lanes, which helps to link other cycling routes like the Koonung Trail beside the Eastern Freeway.
Doncaster Shoppingtown – Camberwell (Route 285)
This bus stops in front of the Balwyn Leisure Centre.
City – Doncaster Shoppingtown (Route 201) & Kew East – Box Hill Central (Route 202) & City – Box Hill Central (Route 302)
Get off at the corner of Balwyn and Belmore roads then walk north along Balwyn road for a few minutes to get to the Balwyn Leisure Centre.
City – Donvale via Doncaster Shoppingtown (Route 207) & City – Templestowe (Route 313) & City – Box Hill Central (Route 315)
Get off at the corner of Balwyn and Doncaster roads then walk south along Balwyn road for about 10 minutes to get to the Balwyn Leisure Centre.
Trams 24 & 48
These trams terminate at the corner of Balwyn and Doncaster roads. From there, the Balwyn Leisure Centre is a 10 minute walk south along Balwyn Road.
