My name is Anna. I am Chinese. I grew up in Sydney near the beaches, and my artistic practice is I am a musician, a pianist, I'm passionate about and passionate about art, not just music. But all forms of art. So visual arts, literature.

I believe it's all interconnected with music and each takes influence from each other. And I'm just passionate about everything Even though I grew up in Australia, I've got a very strong connection with Chinese culture through connecting with family, connecting with family overseas especially.

I believe it's a very, very strong part of me. So participating in the many, many Chinese festivals eating the many delicious food that's available during those festivals and learning about all the stories that make up Chinese culture and I find that fascinating for me.

I think it's a huge part, not just Chinese culture that influences my own artistic practice, but other cultures as well. For example, you've got Chopin, a Polish composer, and when I study Chopin, I have to go and look at Polish. Mazurka is Polish folk music. So it's not just Chinese culture. That influences my own practice, but all different cultures from around the world.

I believe music is a language that is understood by everyone for the emotions that it conveys. So music can make me laugh, can make me smile, can make me cry. And it's all for not saying a single word. So everyone can understand this language. And I believe that's what connects music and the community and people of different cultures.

I believe diversity is all about understanding. So understanding that everyone is unique everyone has their own interests and they may be different from yours, but it's their own thing. So I believe understanding that everyone is different is the key to diversity.
