I’m delighted to provide you with an update on the construction of our new Kew Recreation Centre.

This site has been buzzing with activity in recent months. Our builders are working to create this wonderful purpose-built facility for all of us to enjoy.

With all the foundations now complete our community will now start to see the structure of the new facility really take shape.

The structural steel roofing over the pool area has begun. Once the roof structures are complete work on the exterior wall installation will start. Hydrostatic testing of the pools is underway to detect any pipe leaks and ensure the pool structures are sound. This is an exiting major step in preparing our new aquatic facilities and features.

In other exciting news all the fun and colourful equipment for the aqua play area and the splashpad area has arrived in Melbourne. Thanks to the community’s input we are thrilled to be brining you a vibrant, interactive aqua play space for all ages and abilities. The aqua play will include a waterslide for older children, an equipment platform with smaller slide options and spray features suitable for younger children and toddlers.

Despite the impacts of COVID-19 across the board and for the construction industry in particular this project is on track to complete completed by around about mid-2023. I look forward to bringing you more updates on the progress of our new Kew recreation centre.
