We have almost 40 seniors clubs operating in Boroondara, where older people can meet to socialise and share activities they enjoy. These clubs offer regular activities including outings, games, guest speakers, dancing, exercise programs, musical and cultural celebrations. It’s easy to find a suitable club in Boroondara.

Club member 1: What makes me happy about my club is that people enjoy themselves.

Club member 2: I like being in the club because we interact with people our own age, which is very important for us and a sense of belonging.

Club member 3: Some of the groups that we have are walking groups so there's different levels of walking groups. There's the hearty walkers and there's the regular walkers.

Club member 4: We meet here every Monday, Wednesday, and we have line dance, ballroom dance.

Club member 1: We just enjoy ourselves for 3 hours. And another thing is, we go back 30 years when we used to go dancing at the church dances. It's the memories that are still living within us even though all these years have gone by, we've still got music for the brain and dance for the body.

Club member 3: There are other great things too. There's Tai Chi, there's table tennis, there's tennis. [laughs]

Then there's all the language groups. There's Spanish, I think Russian, Chinese, French... Heaps to choose from.

Club member 5: We always bring something from home and we share it.

Club member 3: Everybody's welcome.

Club member 4: We are here to service the senior people.

Club member 1: Every person that comes in that door enjoys the few hours that we're together.

Club member 4: I am grateful to this club.

Club member 5: I'm very proud of the club.

Club member 2: I'm just overwhelmed how happy I am to belong to the club at Camberwell.

Club member 3: We need to provide opportunities that excite people and keep them involved and while you're participating in things like this yoga class behind us et cetera you're more likely to be able to live a full and satisfying life.
