I'm thrilled to provide you with an update on the Canterbury Community Precinct, located within our wonderful Canterbury Gardens.

We are reaching some very exciting milestones as we head towards stage one of the building project, due for completion later this year.

The new building is starting to blend in beautifully with the former Bowls Club, celebrating the heritage and character of the site.

The external cladding of the new building is nearly complete, and the internal plastering has advanced.

The new building includes modern open spaces with ample natural light and a view over Canterbury Gardens.

Work on the former bowls club is progressing well, with the installation of the external cladding underway and the roofing works now complete.

As we approach the completion of this new building over the coming months, our community service providers will be preparing to move into this new facility.

The Canterbury Neighbourhood Centre, Canterbury Maternal and Child Health, Canterbury Norwood Kindergarten, Playstation Occasional Care and Canterbury Toy Library will join each other under this one roof later this year.

It will be very exciting to bring these important community services into one intergenerational and inclusive space, providing something for all ages.

Our builder is continuing to work safely and effectively despite the ongoing challenges of the COVID 19 pandemic.

I'd like to thank the community for your patience during this building project and for your support of this innovative community space we are creating.
