It’s important for the elderly to go on outings with people of their own age.

And to keep in touch to cut out the loneliness.

I’m Trudi, I’m well over 80 and I’ve been retired since I’ve been 65 and I’ve never been so busy.

Today we are going on an excursion with the Community Bus to the cinema.

I don’t go to the cinema by myself anymore but on the Community Bus it’s fun because you go with other people too.

The Community Bus is for the elderly who are not as mobile as some of the earlier aged people.

And here you go out with people born at the same time and you can reminisce with people about the good old days.

We have lunch, we stop for lunch and then we discuss the movie. They really liked it. I thought it was a very powerful movie.

There was a lady from another group and we got on like a house on fire and I think we could get into a lot of trouble together if we spent more time together.

I wouldn’t be able to go on these excursions. A. because I wouldn’t know where they are and also just getting there, not driving to the other side of Melbourne. It’s not really my forte anymore. So without the Community Bus I wouldn’t see those places.
