To celebrate the 20th year of the Boroondara Literary Awards, the Boroondara Library Service presents the Boroondara Literary Festival 2018.

We have numerous workshops, talks and in-library events to be enjoyed throughout June, July and August.

Our writing workshops include advice on how to have your writing published on the Tablo platform, using social media and online tools to promote your work, writing up your family history and keeping track of your research using Evernote

Christian White, winner of the Victorian Premier's Literary Award for an unpublished manuscript, screenwriter and author of The nowhere child will be speaking at Ashburton Library and reknown romance author Anne Gracie will be giving us tips on how to write a great romance.

If you have some spoken word poetry that you would love to test out, register for our quarterly poetry slam at Hawthorn Library where you'll hear three poets perform and then anyone can have a go during the open mic session.

For children we have Australian Children's Laureate 2016-2017 Leigh Hobbs hosting a writing workshop, and a series of book-themed storytimes and activities during Book Week, 17 to 24 August. This year's theme is 'find your treasure'.

We hope you can join us across the winter months to be informed and inspired by a love of words and celebrate all things literature.
