This stage of life can be liberating and empowering but also difficult to navigate for some women. Menopause can be disruptive to sleep due to fluctuations in hormones, and this in turn may impact mood, memory, cognitive function, energy levels and overall wellbeing.Join us for a free strength exercise session at 6:45 pm. Wear comfy clothes and feel free to bring a mat (we will have spares) and a water bottle. There will be modifiable exercises to include everyone.This will be followed by an information session with Dr Linda Schachter at 7:30 pm, to discuss:how sleep changes during perimenopause and menopausestrategies and tips for improving sleep quality during menopausewhere to access resources and support for managing sleep-related issues.All are welcome! This is an all inclusive event for the whole community to learn how to support friends, family and the wider community through the menopause transition.This session is delivered in partnership with the YMCA, Sleep Services Australia and the Sleep Health Foundation.About the speakerDr Linda Schachter has been a sleep and respiratory physician for 25 years, with an interest in how sleep affects everyone differently across the life span.
