10/08/2019 9:30am 12/12/2019 3:30pm Making Alternatives Possible - MAP East Making Alternatives Possible (MAP) is a 10-week program delivered by the Inner Melbourne VET Cluster (IMVC) to help young people explore alternative career pathways. Throughout the program, students will participate in engaging and interactive activities designed to help them to set goals for education and employment. The MAP program helps students develop core literacy and numeracy skills at the same time as developing a career pathway. Students will explore different industries, hear from guest speakers, complete barista training and obtain a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate. Information sessions for young people interested in the course will be held at the 360 Boroondara Youth Resource Centre at: 7.30am to 8.30am, Wednesday 17 July 3.30pm to 4.30pm, Wednesday 24 July. To register for one of the information sessions, contact Cassandra Kear at [email protected] Duration The course runs for 10 weeks on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Free breakfast is provided each day from 8.45am. Eligibility To be eligible to enrol in MAP, you must be: aged between 17 and 19 an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident not currently enrolled in school. Young people who do not meet the eligibility requirements may still be able to attend the course.
