It will be led by the brilliant counter-tenor Maximilian Riebl in a Baroque Christmas special accompanied by lutenist Samantha Cohen and organist Calvin Bowman. Series Concert Co-ordinator, Mr. Peter Johnson, says, “Riebl, Cohen and Bowman are three of Australia’s finest baroque specialists who will be performing music by the greatest German composers of the era such as JS Bach, Buxtehude and Schutz and cantatas from the early German baroque period. The program has been especially curated by Maximilian Riebl for this St. Oswald’s concert as part of our December Christmas celebrations”. All three musicians have studied in Australia and internationally, and have performed across Australia in our great concert halls with orchestras such as the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra as well as many of the major symphony orchestras. They all have high class recordings and have performed and internationally in major festivals and on the concert platform. Reverend Glenn Loughrey says “Our concert program at St Oswald’s once again welcomes these internationally recognized artists. It has become a most enjoyable way of raising funds for the various charities the church supports, and a means through which we can communicate with the broader Melbourne community through beautiful music making” St Oswald's Anglican Church 100 High Street, Glen Iris VIC 3146 City of Boroondara [email protected] Australia/Melbourne public
