Event details
We are teaming up with Councils across Melbourne to join the City Nature Challenge. As part of the challenge, we invite you to come along and join a morning of nature spotting on a guided walk, hosted by fungi and lichens expert Dr Sapphire McMullan-Fisher!
We will be on hand to help you spot, learn about, and record your sightings, as we focus on amazing fungi and lichens! Through using the free iNaturalist app, your sightings will contribute to the challenge. We encourage you to download the free iNaturalist app prior to the event, however this is not essential to attend the session. You can find out more about iNaturalist and how to download the app on the iNaturalist website-external site.
You may also like to watch a recording of an iNaturalist app training session to learn how to use the app, if this is your first time participating! You can watch this video on the City of Stonnington YouTube channel-external site.
Together, let's show the world the incredible fungi and lichens that Melbourne has to offer!
Please wear appropriate clothing and shoes for an outdoor walk along uneven ground. Please bring a water bottle and be prepared for wet weather.

We will meet you at the Front Entry Gate to Maranoa Gardens, if entering off Parring Road.
