About the exhibition ‘Our Place: 20 Years of Town Hall Gallery’ is a major exhibition celebrating the 20th anniversary of Town Hall Gallery. Significant artworks from the Town Hall Gallery Collection have been grouped within the themes of ‘People’, ‘Places’ and ‘Perspectives’, showcasing the vital role of the gallery in reflecting a sense of community and shared history in Boroondara. Featuring some of Australia’s most important artists of the 20th and 21st centuries, ‘Our Place: 20 Years of Town Hall Gallery’ recognises the breadth of talent living, working, or studying in the municipality. Magnetic examples of portraiture, vivid depictions of man made and natural places, and contemporary art forms translating unique ways of seeing the world, create a version of recent art history that celebrates 20 years of life and art in this place.
