About the exhibitions A Family Album A Family Album presents a collage of contemporary Australian communities. Through painting, photography and video works, the featured artists illustrate myriad experiences that bring families together and pull them apart. Featuring family units that cross generations, landscapes, cultures and communities, this exhibition reveals the love, pain, joy and shared environments that render these bonds significant. Tender, contemplative and humorous, A Family Album invites you on an emotional journey that illuminates the human comfort we seek in each other through the families we have and the families we create. Featuring: Donna Bailey, Julie Dowling, Pia Johnson, Hoang Tran Nguyen and Selina Ou. Working Under the Shadow of Happiness Working Under the Shadow of Happiness explores the notion of happiness within the lives of people with disability and/or mental health issues. The 3 artists in this exhibition use their arts practice to offer a highly nuanced account of living as a person with a disability, offering an alternative perspective to the pervasive view that the difficulties of disability must result in misery. Concentrating on the fact disability and/or mental health issues are no barrier to achievement, satisfaction and contentment, the artists invite you to join them in an exploration of happiness. Featuring: Tristana Fitzgerald, Lynne Kells and Owen Renfrey. , City of Boroondara [email protected] Australia/Melbourne public
