Enjoy canapés and a glass of wine while experiencing the exhibition with other art lovers. The artists and curators will be on hand to talk about the artworks.  About the exhibitions Contemporising the Modern: Australian Modern and Contemporary Photography In 2015, The Russell Mills Foundation donated 50 photographs to the Murray Art Museum's Albury Collection. These photographs map the development of Russell Mills as an art collector, from enthusiastic viewer of photographic images to connoisseur of photographic art. Showcasing photographic works that speak of 20th- and 21st- century Australia, this exhibition explores the development of Australian photography and its coming of age in a period when photographers were still pushing for their work to be accepted as a pure art form. Town Hall Gallery is thrilled to be hosting this touring exhibition. Featuring: Pat Brassington, Olive Cotton, Max Dupain, John Eaton, Rennie Ellis, Peter Elliston, Bill Henson, Petrina Hicks, Carol Jerrems, Peter Leiss, Robert McFarlane, David Moore, Trent Parke, Michael Riley, Roger Scott and Wolfgang Sievers among others. Made to Measure Painters Polly Hollyoak and Olga Tsara collaborate for the first time to present Made to Measure. For this exhibition, the artists expand on their artistic practice to present a series of dresses based on the designs of their paintings. The purpose-created dresses will be exhibited alongside their source paintings, together commenting on consumerism, fashion, fetishism and feminism, with the gallery itself transforming into a mini fashion parade. This artistic collaboration also sees Hollyoak and Tsara team up with other Melbourne artists to create engaging and topical work that speaks to the current trend of fashion houses appropriating art.
