05/31/2019 10:00am 05/31/2019 11:30am Celebrating National Reconciliation Week in our community To mark National Reconciliation Week, we invite you to attend a community event on Friday 31 May at the new Greythorn Community Hub. The event has been planned in collaboration with Yarn Strong Sista, Greythorn Early Childhood Centre and Trentwood Neighbourhood House. Families, carers and grandparents in the wider community are encouraged to bring children along to enjoy the festivities, which will open with a traditional smoking ceremony performed by a Wurundjeri Elder, followed by storytelling and ochre painting. There is even an opportunity for both adults and children to learn the Aboriginal Hokey Pokey.  Greythorn Library is also marking the occasion with a special book display and children's activity. Join us in celebrating the rich culture and history of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
