Brooke Wandin -Woiwurrung language researcher

Brooke Wandin is a Wurundjeri woman, and began studying Woiwurrung in 2018. This led to a State Library Victoria Fellowship to gather and find knowledge - wurrung bagungga ba yiaga. During her time at the library, Brooke began to understand the scope of materials that relate to her precious ancient endangered language.

Join us as Brooke shares her language journey, which involved using archival documentation and audio recordings to reconstruct Woiwurrung. She will also discuss how Woiwurrung was documented in the past, and how she has been teaching her family and school students at Healesville Primary School.
