The blitz runs for 4 days only: Friday 24 November to Monday 27 November 2023.To help support the blitz, Life Gone Wild are running a beginner birdwatching session to talk about the local birds in Boroondara. We will be on hand to help you spot, learn about, and record your sightings, as we focus on the amazing birds that call Boroondara home!What’s a BioBlitz?A BioBlitz involves participants sighting and recording as many species as possible within a given timeframe and area. The Great Southern BioBlitz is an opportunity for southern hemisphere countries to record flora and fauna and showcase our beautiful biodiversity to the world.We will be on hand to help you spot, learn about, and record your sightings, as we focus on amazing moths! Through using the free iNaturalist app, your sightings will contribute to the challenge.Before the event, we encourage you to download the free iNaturalist app. However, this is not essential to attend the session.You may also like to watch a recording of an iNaturalist app training session. This shows you how to use the app, if this is your first time participating!Please wear appropriate clothing and shoes for an outdoor walk along uneven ground.
