Event details
A 3-hour class for children aged 9 to 12 who can ride a bike but want to gain confidence with riding on the road and independent travel.
The training is designed to ensure participants develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to ride their bikes safely in real-world environments applicable to their skill level and experience. The class is open to anyone who lives and studies in Boroondara and limited to 10 participants. Participants must bring their own bicycle and helmet.
What’s covered:
- bike and equipment checks
- basic bike skills
- traffic skills session in an off-road simulated environment followed by a possible short group ride in a traffic-free setting.
What to bring:
- bicycle
- helmet
- water bottle
- snacks (but no nuts!)
This event has been organised by the City of Boroondara and facilitated by Cycling Safe instructor Steve Taylor - one of Australia’s leaders in cycling tuition.
