Big Fiddle Little Fiddle is both a performance duo and project vehicle for creative experimentation and collaboration. Led by cellist Louise Godwin and fiddler Jessica Foot, the duo is known for its joyful performances, eclectic fiddling styles, classical sensibilities, driving rhythms, and inventive arrangements of original compositions.
It has always been the role of folk music to reflect the cultural currents and climates of its era. Foregrounding the creative voices and experiences of women, for this performance in Kew Court House, Big Fiddle Little Fiddle will be joined by acclaimed harpist and singer Claire Patti. Together, they will present a program of original and local songs and music in conversation with audio-visual creations by animator Sylvie Le Couteur in response to poems by Alexandra C. Steffan.
