The Boroondara Volunteer Awards celebrate volunteers and volunteer programs for their outstanding contribution to our community. We have 3 categories to submit a nomination:

  1. Boroondara Volunteer of the Year Award
  2. Volunteer Program Impact Award
  3. COVID-19 Recovery: Local Hero Award.

Nominate for the Boroondara Volunteer Awards

Selection criteria

For the Boroondara Volunteer of the Year Award and the COVID-19 Recovery: Local Hero award, the nominee must be an Australian citizen who volunteers for a community organisation in the City of Boroondara.

For the Volunteer Program Impact Award, the program or service must:

  • include volunteers
  • be with a not-for-profit community organisation
  • be based in the City of Boroondara
  • benefit those who live, work and study in the City of Boroondara.

Boroondara Volunteer of the Year 

Nominate a volunteer for their achievements with a local community organisation. In your nomination, please include the:

  • benefit and impact of the nominee’s volunteering to the community, as well as their achievements
  • attributes, skills and experience of the nominee
  • history and range of volunteering activities undertaken by the nominee
  • extent to which the nominee has balanced their volunteering activity in addition to family, work and other commitments
  • challenges and complexities associated with their volunteering activities.

Volunteer Program Impact Award

Nominate a local community organisation program or activity that has achieved significant outcomes for the Boroondara community. In your nomination, please include:

  • how the organisation’s program or activity has made a significant difference to the community 
  • benefit and impact of the organisation’s program or activity to the community
  • the challenges and complexities associated with the program or activity.

COVID-19 Recovery: Local Hero Award

Nominate a volunteer who has assisted the community recovery effort through the COVID-19 pandemic. In your nomination, please include the:

  • benefit and impact of the nominee’s volunteering in the community recovery effort through the COVID-19 pandemic
  • attributes, skills and experience of the nominee
  • extent to which the nominee has balanced their volunteering activity in addition to family, work and other commitments
  • challenges and complexities associated with their volunteering activities.

Winners will be announced at our International Volunteer Day celebration on 2 December 2021.
