Personal alarms provide daily monitoring and support for frail, older people, people with a disability who live in their own home, those who are isolated and vulnerable, and those who may have a history of falls or at risk of falls.

To be eligible for a funded alarm you must have limited access to immediate support by:

  • living alone
  • having no or limited access to informal support/monitoring
  • being socially isolated
  • living alone most of the time.

We do not install personal alarms, but we can assess your home situation to find out if you are eligible to receive a government-funded alarm through MePACS or refer you to a private alarm service.

MePACS is a personal alarm service that provides 24/7 monitoring and rapid emergency response. If you are eligible, MePACS will organise to install your personal alarm.

You can find out more about the range of personal alarms available on the MePACS website.
