The Ashburton Support Group meetings happen on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month, either in person or on Zoom, from 7 pm to 9 pm. They are for family members and friends of loved ones with problematic alcohol, drug, or gambling use. They are led by volunteers with their own lived experience, and provide safe, confidential, and friendly places where members can learn strategies on how to cope, gain information and support and be among people who understand. All meetings are free, but you need to call to book a place at a meeting.

Learn how to do cryptic crossword puzzles for some fantastic mental exercise! Online sessions via zoom. Two sessions run on Monday. The morning session runs from 10:30 am to 11:30 am and is for participants who have experience doing cryptic crosswords, and the afternoon session runs from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm and is for participants who have experience doing cryptic crosswords. Cost: $40, and you must be a member to participate ($15 per year for adults).

You can spend two hours per fortnight with friendly people, listen to prepared speeches on a range of topics and take part in impromptu speaking practice. First visit is free! Meeting are conducted on Zoom and in-person (hybrid), until further notice.
