Activities for over 55s

Come along to seniors table tennis at Boroondara Sports Complex. A fun game of table tennis, also known as ping pong, will help you re-discover your energy, agility, balance and flexibility. All abilities are welcomed.

This group of artistic seniors gather weekly to explore their own creativity and encourage others. Join this supportive group to connect or reconnect with your artistic side. Limited materials are available. Clients are encouraged to bring their own art supplies.

We are a mixed group of seniors whose Club has monthly Monday meetings with a guest speaker. Other varied and interesting activities are also organised including dine-outs, excursions, theatre, films, walks, garden groups, caravan and cabin group, craft and conversation group, picnics. Many aged care services provide community buses to pick you up for regular trips to local shopping centres, libraries, senior citizen clubs and community health centres. There are also volunteer drivers who can take you to medical appointments and the like. Contact My Aged Care to see if you're eligible for subsidised services. If you are eligible an assessor will help you find services to suit your needs.

Κέντρο Ελλήνων Βετεράνων Λέσχη Ηλικιωμένων του Kew & Districts Inc: Συγκεντρώνονται ελληνόφωνες ηλικιωμένοι για να γιορτάσουν εκδηλώσεις όπως το Πάσχα και τα Χριστούγεννα, πάνε σε ημερήσιες εκδρομές, παίζουν χαρτιά, ντόμινο, τάβλι, μπίνγκο, πινγκ-πονγκ. Τέσσερις φορές το μήνα οργανώνονται μεσημεριανά γεύματα. Greek speaking seniors get together to celebrate events like Easter and Christmas, go on day trips, play cards, dominos, backgammon, bingo, table tennis. Cost: $5 per year for membership, and $5 per session. Runs on Fridays from 8 am to 1 pm.

U3A Hawthorn, established in 1984, is a nonprofit, community, self-help organization which provides a range of adult education courses, recreational activities and excursions for retired and semi-retired people. U3A Hawthorn was established for people in their third age who are over the age of 55 and are retired or are semi-retired. Our mission is to provide opportunities for seniors to learn, teach, share and to give mutual support to each other in a friendly and warm environment, regardless of ethnicity, religion, ability or disability. Our courses cover a wide range of interest areas, from academic to physical and artistic activities. Our members enjoy both the intellectual engagement and the social aspect of our courses.
