We are planning the redevelopment in 2019 of Kew Library at the corner of Cotham Road and Civic Drive, Kew.

There are over 218,000 visits to Kew Library each year. It was opened in its current location in 1987 and has not undergone any major development work since.

The purpose of the redevelopment is to transform the library into a world class facility that meets the changing needs of library members and is embraced by the community.

It is our priority to involve community in the design and understand and incorporate community and stakeholder aspirations into the project.

Stage 1

The first stage of engagement for the redevelopment began in October 2017 and involved community input to ensure we understood your interests and vision for a redeveloped facility.

Ideas from this phase will be considered by the architect who will develop an initial concept design.

Stage 2

In 2018, we will share the concept design with the public for comment and feedback.

In 2019 building will start and Kew library will be temporarily relocated.
