Council has moved to address a significant shortage of sporting fields to accommodate the growth in juniors, girls and women playing sport in our City. This contributes to the health and wellbeing of the City, and the future design and planning of Boroondara’s open space.
On 12 December 2019, Council agreed to endorse the Dorothy Laver Reserve West Landscape Plan. Information about our decision and subsequent actions is available in the Dorothy Laver Reserve West: fact sheet.
This was the final stage in the project’s development period. Between 18 October and 3 November 2019, Council ran a community consultation and received 308 responses to a survey on the proposed landscape design and 23 items of written correspondence.
About the project
In late 2018, we conducted a public consultation about proposed works at Dorothy Laver Reserve West. All consultation feedback received was reviewed and collated into an officer report to Council, which was tabled at a Services Special Committee meeting on 12 November 2018.
A decision was made on the Dorothy Laver Reserve West proposal at the Council meeting on 10 December 2018 and a number of actions recommended. Information about our decision and these actions is available in the Dorothy Laver Reserve West: fact sheet.
