Boroondara City Council (Council) gives notice under section 190 of the Local Government Act 1989 (“the Act”) of its intention to enter into a lease with the following facilities within the Boroondara municipality.

Samarinda Ashburton Aged Services Inc

The principal terms of the lease will be:

  1. 296 High Street, Ashburton 3147.
  2. A term until 30 June 2024.
  3. Annual rental is commencing at $3,900 plus GST and will be increased annually to be $15,600 plus CPI from 1 July 2023.
  4. Outgoings and other charges are payable by the tenant.
  5. The permitted use is ‘The provision of programs, services and activities which promote healthy ageing, wellbeing and independence and associated purposes as agreed by Council’.

Camberwell Community Centre Inc

The principal terms of the lease will be:

  1. 33 Fairholm Grove, Camberwell 3124.
  2. A term of five (5) years.
  3. Peppercorn rental.
  4. Outgoings and other charges are payable by the tenant.
  5. The permitted use is ‘Community facility including provision of educational and leisure courses, activities and associated purposes as agreed by Council.’.

Making a submission

In accordance with section 223 of the Act, any person wishing to make a submission must do so in writing no later than Tuesday, 25 August 2020.
All submissions will be considered in accordance with section 223 of the Act.

A person making a submission is entitled to request in the submission that they wish to appear in person, or to be represented by a person specified in the submission, in support of the submission at a meeting of the Council or its Committee on a date, time and place to be determined by the Council.

Any person making a written submission under section 223 of the Act is advised that all submissions and personal information in the submission will be handled by Council in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014.
