Boroondara City Council (Council) gives notice under section 190 of the Local Government Act 1989 (“the Act”) of its intention to enter into a lease with the following kindergartens and child care centres and community groups across the Boroondara municipality.

  • Greythorn Early Childhood Centre Inc
  • Hawthorn Early Years Inc
  • Camberwell Kindergarten and Child Care Centre Inc

The principal terms of each lease will be:

  1. A term of five (5) years
  2. Peppercorn rental ($1.00 per annum)
  3. Outgoings and other charges are payable by the tenant
  4. The permitted uses are kindergarten and child care services and associated purposes as agreed by Council.
  • Access Health & Community

The principal terms of the lease will be:

  1. A term of two (2) years with an option for a further three (3) years
  2. Peppercorn rental ($1.00 per annum)
  3. Outgoings and other charges are payable by the tenant
  4. The permitted use is Manage the North Balwyn Hub, Neighbourhood House activities and associated purposes as agreed by Council.
  • Boroondara Aged Services Society

The principal terms of the lease will be:

  1. A term until 30 June 2019.
  2. Peppercorn rental ($1.00 per annum)
  3. Outgoings and other charges are payable by the tenant
  4. The permitted use is Aged Services and associated purposes as agreed by Council.

In accordance with section 223 of the Act, any person wishing to make a submission must do so in writing no later than Friday, 30 March 2018.

All submissions will be considered in accordance with section 223 of the Act.

A person making a submission is entitled to request in the submission that they wish to appear in person, or to be represented by a person specified in the submission, in support of the submission at a meeting of the Council or its Committee on a date, time and place to be determined by the Council.

Any person making a written submission under section 223 of the Act is advised that all submissions and personal information in the submission will be handled by Council in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014.
