Numerous volunteer opportunities within Boroondara will be promoted at the Boroondara Volunteer Expo on Wednesday 6 March 2019.

Bringing volunteers and community organisations together to fill voluntary roles across the City, the Expo will host over 50 local groups enthusiastic about speaking with future volunteers.

Now in its fourteenth year, the Expo has successfully matched hundreds of volunteers and organisations in the health, community support, recreation, environment and community education sectors.

City of Boroondara Mayor, Cr Jane Addis, is calling on the community to get involved and consider the significant impact it can make.

“Boroondara has a proud volunteer record. More than a quarter of our City is engaged in voluntary work and this makes an enormous difference to our quality of life,” said Cr Addis.

“Boroondara is a great place to live, work and enjoy life and I encourage everyone to visit the Expo to understand how they can use their skills and experience to benefit the community.”

BASScare’s Marketing and Community Engagement Manager, Janet Crago, is encouraging everyone to meet with local groups to understand how their time and expertise can benefit others.

“Last year BassCare connected with 50 potential volunteers and recruited eight new volunteers, eager to support our projects,” said Ms Crago.

“The Expo is an easy way for Boroondara residents to discover local volunteer opportunities, learn new skills and share their expertise.”
