The City of Boroondara is calling for nominations for the 2018 Boroondara Citizen, Young Citizen and Volunteer of the Year Awards. Nominations are open from 15 September until 5pm Friday 10 November 2017.
Councillor Phillip Healey, Mayor of Boroondara, said that Council is proud to acknowledge the often unsung heroes in our community who generously give their time and expertise to help others.
“We are very fortunate to have such giving and talented community members who dedicate a huge amount of time and effort to making Boroondara a better place,” Cr Healey said.
“The awards are a great opportunity to celebrate our outstanding citizens and give them the recognition they deserve.
“You can nominate a family member, colleague or friend who demonstrates exceptional leadership or commitment towards improving the quality of life for others.”
Nominating someone is easy. Nomination forms and award guidelines are available online at www.boroondara.vic.gov.au/citizen-awards or at any of Council's customer service centres or libraries.”
The awards are open to Australian citizens living, studying, working or volunteering in Boroondara. The Young Citizen Award nominee must be under 26 years of age (as at 26 January 2018). The Volunteer of the Year must live in Boroondara.
The awards will be announced at the Boroondara Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony on 26 January 2018.
