Nominations are now open for the Boroondara Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year awards, which honour outstanding achievements by the Boroondara community.
For more than 15 years, the awards have celebrated members of our community who have made a significant contribution to the lives of Boroondara residents.
Councillor Jim Parke, Mayor of Boroondara said, “The Boroondara Citizen and Young Citizen awards are a great opportunity to acknowledge and thank our unsung heroes who tirelessly volunteer and strengthen the City of Boroondara, making it a better place to live.
“It could be a neighbour or a family member who wants to protect our local habitat. It might be a colleague who helps our seniors, or a friend who devotes their spare time to raising awareness about an important social cause.
“There are many people who deserve to be recognised for their contributions and we encourage nominations,” Cr Parke said.
The awards are open to Australian citizens living, working, studying or volunteering in Boroondara.
The nomination process is simple to follow. Forms and the award guidelines are available online or at any of Council’s customer service centres and libraries.
To be eligible for The Young Citizen Award, candidates must be under 26 years of age (as at 26 January 2019).
Nominations will close at 5pm on Friday 9 November 2018. Winners will be announced at the Boroondara Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony on Saturday 26 January 2019.
