The City of Boroondara will host volunteers in a special International Volunteer Day celebration on Wednesday 5 December.

Held on the United Nation’s official International Volunteer Day, the event will recognise local volunteers for their outstanding achievements in improving the lives of people who live, work and enjoy life in Boroondara.

During the ceremony, the winner of the 2019 Boroondara Volunteer of the Year Award will be announced.

Mayor of Boroondara, Cr Jane Addis, thanked the City’s volunteers and emphasised the importance of volunteering in Boroondara.

“Boroondara’s volunteers are actively achieving our vision for the future by creating a vibrant and inclusive city and meeting the needs and aspirations of our community.

“I am proud of the community’s generosity and I have witnessed first-hand how our volunteers respond to the needs of the community and local organisations,” said Cr Addis.

“I look forward to showing our appreciation for the 2019 Boroondara Volunteer of the Year and celebrating this outstanding achievement.”
