The City of Boroondara has welcomed the announcement of Gardiner Ward Councillor Coral Ross as President of the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) following their recent election.

Having previously served as interim President of the MAV, Members elected Cr Ross as President at-large.

Making a considerable contribution to Boroondara as a three times past Mayor and now as a Ward councillor, Cr Ross has a breadth of experience in the media and as a political journalist.

As well as her involvement in Local Government, Cr Ross serves on a variety of boards and committees both nationally and in Victoria and has lived in East Hawthorn for 26 years.

Mayor of Boroondara Cr Jane Addis said “I would like to congratulate Cr Ross on her appointment as President of the Municipal Association of Victoria. Cr Ross is widely respected and this decision will provide her with an opportunity to further demonstrate her passion and commitment to public life and to influence outcomes in the community to the best of her ability. I’m confident that her consultative and inclusive style will contribute to her success.”

The Municipal Association of Victoria is the peak representative and advocacy body for Victoria’s 79 councils.
