The appearance of public areas in Boroondara continues to be our best performing service area, as rated by you in the Victorian Government's latest Local Government Community Satisfaction Survey. An initiative of Transforming Boroondara, new dashboards are enhancing how we use data for asset plans in the major areas of drainage, open space assets, buildings, transport and roads. As a result, we have improved our ability to forecast and manage maintenance, plan for renewal, and prolong the life of our assets for all residents.

We are also upgrading the mobile tools our field workers use on location to deliver a better service for our community. Whether maintaining trees, completing road and footpath works, taking care of drainage maintenance or conducting turf and playground audits, our teams will be equipped to make inspections and respond to maintenance requests from anywhere, on any device.

When customers contact us about works in their area, our Customer Connect team now has a centralised view of all works happening across Boroondara. We upgraded Council’s spatial data platform to make this possible and created new digital map-based tools for our staff to provide enhanced customer service.

More connected information allows our teams to issue permits quicker and more effectively, and streamline how we plan and execute Council works. Fewer hand-offs between departments is good news for our customers as we continue to improve service delivery across Council and, where possible, reduce our cost to serve.
