ANZAC Day this year will look different to those many of us will be used to in years gone by.
Whilst there will be a Dawn Service where wreaths will be laid, the Last Post played and a minute of silence observed in memory of the fallen, the service community and the public will be asked to stay at home, complying with social distancing measures to protect the health and safety of the wider community.
During these difficult times, it is important for our community to stay connected whilst also staying safe. So, to mark the occasion this year, we encourage you to partake in RSL Victoria’s Stand-to campaign.
How to take part
The Dawn Service takes place on Saturday 25 April 2020.
ABC radio will begin broadcasting the Dawn Service live from the War Memorial in Canberra.
We encourage you to walk outside and stand in your yard, on your driveway, or on your balcony, with your candles ready.
The Last Post will be played during the ANZAC Day Dawn Service and a moment of silence will be observed.
Share your experience
RSL Victoria also invites you to take photos and share them on their Facebook page using the hashtag #STANDTO as a mark of solidarity.
