The City of Boroondara is home to more than 20,000 businesses, mostly small and micro businesses, which greatly contribute to a thriving local economy.
To support the long-term sustainability of the small business sector in Boroondara, we have made available $20,000 in grants through a new pilot Small Business Sparks grant program.
Applications are now open until 4 May.
The grant aims to help small business owners deliver innovative solutions and could be used to fund development of new local product or service offerings, or introduce new technologies and processes.
A priority for Council is to create a vibrant local economy that supports community life in Boroondara.
We are looking for applications that demonstrate innovative or creative ideas and a sound business proposal that will benefit the local economy.
The grant program provides amounts of up to $2,000 on a dollar for dollar basis. For every dollar received, the grant recipient will need to invest the same amount.
Applicants must own a small business within Boroondara’s municipal boundary (a small business is defined by the Australian Bureau of Statistics as employing under 20 people).
