Are your child’s immunisations up to date? The ‘No Jab, No Play’ legislation requires your child to be immunised to enrol in kindergarten or childcare in Boroondara.
The legislation was implemented 1 January 2016 and applies to all enrolments from 2016 onwards.
When enrolling your child in kindergarten or childcare, you need to provide their immunisation status certificate to the care service to confirm your enrolment to show your child is up to date with vaccinations for their age OR is on a vaccine catch-up schedule OR has a medical condition preventing them from being fully vaccinated.
If your child was immunised through City of Boroondara you can access your immunisation status certificate by:
- completing the immunisation history enquiry form.
If your child was immunised through a doctor you can access your immunisation status certificate by:
- requesting a statement be posted to you in the mail by phoning Australian Childhood Immunisation Register (ACIR) on 1800 653 809 or email ACIR.
- or logging into your online Medicare account or the Express Plus Medicare mobile app
- or completing the Australian Immunisation Register immunisation history form.
If your child was immunised outside of Australia you will need to have your child’s immunisation status certification translated, one of the places this can be done is the Royal Children’s Hospital.
If your child is not fully immunised (or if you are not sure if your child is fully immunised, or you’re interested to find out more) contact Immunisation Services on 9278 4712 or visit the Department of Health and Human Services website.
