This week is National Child Protection Week aims to raise awareness about the role we all play in protecting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.

Every child has the right to feel safe in our community. We all play an important role in protecting children and young people, especially if we have concerns about a child’s safety.

The City of Boroondara is a child-safe organisation, with zero tolerance for child abuse. We are committed to ensuring children and young people to feel safe and be safe when participating in Council activities, services and programs. This is outlined in our Child Safe Policy.

If you're concerned about a child or young person's safety

There are different types of child abuse, including:

  • physical abuse
  • sexual abuse
  • emotional and psychological abuse
  • neglect
  • family violence

If a child is in immediate danger call the police on 000 (triple zero).
