Over the late summer and early autumn period, Council’s Health Services Team will be conducting mosquito trapping in local parks and gardens.
The traps will be set up for a 24-hour period and retrieved mosquito samples will be identified for species. The data will allow us to create a profile of mosquito activity in our local area and provide useful information about various mosquito populations in different parts of Boroondara.
The traps will be set up in sites including Nettleton Park, Kew Billabong, Hays Paddock, Koonung Creek Reserve, Gardiners Creek and the Back Creek Reserve.
It is important that residents and their pets keep clear of the traps as they are easily disrupted. The immediate area will be cordoned off and signage will be in place.
